Who this policy covers
This policy applies to StrangerCam at strangercam.cc and the chat features reachable from it. By using the service you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use StrangerCam. For the rules that govern use of the service, see the terms of service.
Information we handle
Depending on how you use the service, we handle the following.
- Session and account data.An identifier for your session or account, language and region settings, and whether you have used free matches today.
- Device and usage data.Browser type, device type, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed and basic actions such as starting or leaving a match. We use this for security, troubleshooting and to understand how the service is used.
- Chat content you choose to share.Live video, audio and text are exchanged between you and the person you are matched with. If a chat is reported, the information needed to review the report may be retained.
- Payment information.Purchases of coins are processed by third-party payment providers. We receive confirmation and limited details about the transaction, not your full card number.
- Messages to support.Anything you send to support[at]strangercam.cc, including attachments.
How we use information
We use information to match you with other users, operate the service, keep it safe, prevent fraud and abuse, review reports, process payments, respond to support requests and measure how the service performs. We use analytics tools, including Google Analytics, to understand which pages and features are used.
Your camera and microphone are only used when you start a video or audio chat and allow your browser to access them. You can revoke that permission in your browser at any time.
When information is shared
We share information with service providers who help us run StrangerCam (for example hosting, analytics, payment processing and moderation tools), when required by law, to protect users and the service, and as part of a business transfer. The person you are matched with can see and hear what you transmit during the chat.
How long we keep it
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our rules. Report-related information may be kept longer to deal with repeat violations.
Your choices and rights
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to certain uses, subject to local law. Email support[at]strangercam.cc from the address connected to your use of the service. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
Cookies and similar technologies are used for sessions, security and analytics. You can control them through your browser settings, although some features may stop working.
Adults only, and security
StrangerCam is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from minors, and we remove it if we learn of it. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. See our safety tips for ways to protect yourself.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will make that clear on the site. Questions can be sent through the contact page.
