StrangerCam Community Guidelines
These rules apply to every video, audio and text chat. They exist so that most conversations feel respectful, and so that you know what to report.
- Respect first
- Report violations
Be respectful and be an adult about it
You must be an adult to use StrangerCam. Treat the person on the other end as someone you could meet in real life: no harassment, no threats, no hate toward people for who they are.
What is not allowed
The following can lead to a warning, a restriction or removal, depending on how serious it is.
- Harassment and hate.Abuse, threats, stalking, or targeting someone because of who they are.
- Sexual content.Nudity, explicit acts or sexual pressure on camera or in text. This is a chat service for conversation.
- Anyone under 18.Minors are not allowed. Any sexual content involving minors is reported to the authorities.
- Scams and spam.Asking for money, selling, phishing, or pushing links and other apps.
- Illegal activity.Anything that breaks the law where you or the other person is.
- Recording or sharing without consent.Do not capture, post or distribute another person's video.
How to report
Use Report on the chat screen while the chat is open, then block. If you already left, contact support with the time and a short description through the contact page. The safety tips page shows what to do in the moment.
What happens when rules are broken
Reports are reviewed by the team. Depending on severity, outcomes range from a warning to a permanent restriction. Illegal content is escalated to the proper authorities. We do not share details of actions taken against another user.
If you think a restriction on your own account was a mistake, email support[at]strangercam.cc.
What good chats look like
Most conversations on StrangerCam are ordinary: two people saying hello, trading a few stories, then saying goodbye or tapping next. Good behavior is simply that. Be curious, accept a no, and leave politely when the chat has run its course.
If you are not sure whether something is okay, ask yourself whether you would say or do it to someone sitting across from you at a table. If the answer is no, do not do it here either. The safety tips page covers the other side of this: what to do when someone else does not follow the guidelines.
If you think an action was a mistake
Mistakes happen. If you believe a restriction on your account was a mistake, email support[at]strangercam.cc with the time it happened and a short explanation. We will review it and reply by email. Please do not send explicit material when you write in.
